This week we were close to completing the Breast cancer detection program we met as a group to complete it. We imported the packages and we uploaded the dataset correctly. We used”Drop” to delete the “Id” from the dataset. We  also printed the histograms.

We used “sns.” to print the different plots for the diagnosis for certain columns.  Scale the data because most of the time, the dataset will contain features highly varying in magnitudes, units and range Scale the data to the same magnitude. Wel used the StandardScaler method from the SciKit-Learn library.

 On the second day we had a great presentation about microaggression and the three types of Microaggression and how to reduce Microaggression in general  among us by getting rid of assumption with knowing for fact information about people.

We should have empathy or try to be our best self. We should educate ourselves/ stop making assumptions about people, be careful about what you say, respect other people’s boundaries, accept other differences and we should educate ourselves about other cultures and ways of life.

On the third day We had a new  presentation about PPG, mainly the idea of improving wearable technology.

The development of wearable devices by point of care health systems for the underserved the wearable devices will target monitoring and assessment of cardiovascular disease.

The motivation behind that is the current measurements of Blood pressure are intrusive and non continuous. These systems are not designed for diversity. To guide the development of novel devices within PATHs-UP and other developers .

They developed a model for simulated PPG signal with incorporated radial artery biochemical behavior as a method for creating an optical continuous non- invasive blood pressure and vascular health monitoring system. 

 Let’s take a look on the mechanical properties of the Arterial wall:

  • Combined properties of collagen, elastin and smooth muscles.
  • Empirical measurements of vessel stiffness ranges 0.70-1.5MPa
  • Arterial wall can see significant strain during systolic dilation.

We also learned about the Monte Carlo framework and the Finite element Method  and how it works.

The math behind the magic:

The photon scattering angle is sampled statistically  and is defined using certain mathematical.

We ended the week by working more on the breast cancer prediction and using seaborn package to complete the dataset plots.
